This is how Akina fits into current care
Our goal is to empower home and remote therapy while maintaining full compatibility with existing care pathways.
Patients begin their journey with a known and trusted primary care physician or specialist. After an initial assessment, diagnosis and consultation, a treatment decision is made. If the use of Akina is indicated, a prescription is written, either alone or in combination with other therapeutic elements such as physical therapy.
Patients are referred to physical therapy providers who partner with Akina. Often, Akina is introduced during an in-person visit with the physical therapist. If patients prefer a completely remote therapy experience, Akina can still connect them with certified therapists for remote monitoring. Self-pay patients can begin their treatment directly at this step with a provider partner.
A combination of AI-assisted home exercise and remote monitoring with Akina, as well as in-person physical therapy visits, is used depending on the therapy format selected for each patient. The exact combination can be customized based on the patient's medical indication and circumstances.
The attending physician and therapist review therapy results and evaluate whether the therapy should be completed, continued, or adjusted. Akina facilitates this process by automatically documenting patient progress and outcomes.
